The HI 4221 is a micro-processor-based pH, mV, and temperature bench meter.

The meter features a large backlit 240 x 320 dot-matrix color screen, automatic temperature compensation (ATC) or manual compensation, an outside of calibration range warning, and the Hanna Cal-Check function to assure the device is properly calibrated. Calibration is automatic, up to five-point, with five custom and eight standard buffers (1.68, 3.00, 4.01, 6.86, 7.01, 9.18, 10.01, 12.45) and an on-screen step-by-step calibration tutorial.

The meter follows good laboratory practices and captures calibration information, buffer values, and expiration date alongside logged data. All features are available in English, Italian, French, and Spanish languages.

pH range is -2.0 to 20.0; -2.00 to 20.00; -2.000 to 20.000 pH (+ or - 0.1: 0.01 pH; 0.002 pH) with resolution 0.1; 0.01; 0.001 pH. Temperature range is – 20.0 to 120.0 degrees C + or - 0.2 degrees C with a resolution of 0.1 degrees C. ORP range is + or - 2000 with accuracy + or - 0.2 mV, and resolution 0.1 mV. Power supply is a 12 VDC adapter. Dimensions are 159 x 230 x 93 mm (6.3 x 9.1 x 3.7") with weight 800 g (1.8 lb.).
